Gas Cookbook is a quick reference for anaesthesia, designed for use by healthcare professionals and students working in clinical settings in the United Kingdom. It is not for patients or the public, and it is not designed for use outside the UK. It is published by Healthcare Design Studio Ltd.

Recipes are example anaesthetic plans written and published by clinicians who use Gas Cookbook, for a typical case. They are not medical advice, prescribing guidance or a protocol, and they do not take account of the patient in front of you.

Calculators reproduce published formulas and standard UK guidance. Each shows its inputs, formula and sources so that you can check the result. Verify every dose, concentration and conversion against the BNF or BNFC, the manufacturer's product information and your local protocols before administration. Do not give any drug on the basis of a Gas Cookbook result alone.

Content can be incomplete, out of date or wrong. Recipes are the work of the clinicians who publish them. If you spot an error, use Report an error or email hello@gascookbook.com. We aim to review every report within one week. A report that suggests a patient could be harmed, such as a wrong dose or a calculator error, is triaged within one working day, and the recipe is hidden or the calculator switched off while we check it.

Gas Cookbook has not been assessed, UKCA-marked or registered as a medical device. Using it does not transfer any part of your professional responsibility to us. See the Terms for what we are and are not liable for; nothing in them excludes liability that cannot be excluded by law.
