These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of Gas Cookbook ( gascookbook.com ) and related services (together, the “Service”), operated by Healthcare Design Studio Ltd (company number 16672830) (“we”, “us”, “our”).
By accessing or using the Service, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
Gas Cookbook is an educational quick-reference for anaesthetic practice. Recipes, calculators, and other content are provided for general information only. They are not medical advice, prescribing guidance, or a substitute for professional training, local protocols, the BNF, or your own clinical judgment.
You are solely responsible for assessing the suitability of any content for a particular patient or setting, and for all clinical decisions and outcomes. We do not provide medical care and do not accept liability for clinical use of the Service.
Do not enter identifiable patient information into the Service.
The Service is intended for qualified healthcare professionals and others working in clinical environments who are at least 18 years old.
To create recipes or use signed-in features you must sign in via a supported provider (GitHub or Google). You are responsible for maintaining the security of that account and for all activity under your Gas Cookbook author profile.
You must provide accurate information and notify us promptly if you believe your account has been compromised.
You may create, store, and share recipes and related material through the Service (“User Content”). You retain ownership of your User Content.
By submitting User Content, you grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, reproduce, display, distribute, adapt format for presentation, and otherwise use your User Content to operate, promote, and improve the Service, including making public recipes available to other users according to the visibility settings you choose.
You represent that you have the rights to submit your User Content and that it does not infringe third-party rights or breach applicable law or professional obligations.
When you make a recipe public, you attest that doses and clinical content are appropriate to the best of your knowledge. Community voting and moderation tools do not replace your professional responsibility.
We may use artificial intelligence and machine learning to develop, operate, and improve the Service. This includes features such as search, content organisation, moderation, analytics, and automation. As described in our Privacy Policy, we may use data you submit, including User Content and usage data, to train, evaluate, and improve AI and machine learning models.
You may use AI tools to help draft or edit User Content. You do not need to disclose AI assistance, but you remain fully responsible for everything you publish. AI output can be inaccurate, outdated, or unsuitable for clinical use; you must review, verify, and adapt all content before relying on it or sharing it with others.
Any AI-generated or AI-assisted output from the Service, whether produced by us or by you, is provided for convenience only. It must not be treated as authoritative clinical guidance.
You agree not to:
We may remove content, restrict features, or suspend or terminate access if we reasonably believe you have breached these Terms or pose a risk to the Service or other users.
We own the Service, including its design, branding, software, and curated library content created by us or our contributors under licence, except for User Content and third-party materials. You may not copy, modify, or redistribute the Service except as permitted by law or these Terms.
Drug colour conventions and chip presentation reflect UK practice; drug names and clinical references may be subject to third-party rights.
The Service integrates third-party authentication, hosting, analytics, monitoring, email, and other providers. Your use of those services may be subject to their own terms. We are not responsible for third-party sites or services linked from Gas Cookbook.
We aim to keep Gas Cookbook available and accurate but do not guarantee uninterrupted access, error-free operation, or that content is complete or up to date. We may change, suspend, or discontinue features with reasonable notice where practicable.
We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use after the updated Terms are posted constitutes acceptance, subject to applicable law. Material changes will be reflected in the “Last updated” date.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Service is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose or non-infringement.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot legally be excluded, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or fraud.
Subject to the paragraph above, we shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive loss, or for any loss of profits, data, goodwill, or clinical outcomes arising from your use of the Service or reliance on its content.
Our total liability to you for all claims arising from or related to the Service in any twelve-month period is limited to the greater of (a) £100 or (b) the amount you paid us to use the Service in that period (which is £0 for free use).
You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless against claims, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your User Content, your use of the Service, or your breach of these Terms, except to the extent caused by our negligence or wilful misconduct.
You may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these Terms or if we discontinue the Service. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination (including licences granted for content already distributed, disclaimers, and limitations of liability) will continue to apply.

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. The courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction, except that if you are a consumer resident in another part of the United Kingdom you may also have mandatory rights under local law.
